Read:

In English you use the simple present tense when something happens regularly or always.  You use the present continuous tense when something is happening right now.

Simple Present Present Continuous
I study at the library in the afternoon. I am studying at the library right now.
You read books in English. You are reading books right now.
Felicia reads books in English. Felicia is reading books in English.
Solomon studies for tests. Solomon is studying for a test today.
We use Canvas every day. We are using Canvas right now.
The students use Canvas every day. They are using Canvas today.
