Intentional Lesson Planning

This assignment will connect an observation to an intentional lesson plan for a child. 

You can use one of the earlier observation videos, an observation of your own child or an observation of a child in  your classroom. Observe for at least 2 developmental areas (social/emotional, fine motor, gross motor, language, literacy, cognitive).

• Document what skills and behaviors they demonstrate.
• Consider what is challenging for them.  
• What their next steps are.

You can use the Washington State Early Learning and Developmental Guidelines Links to an external site. (Spanish Version Links to an external site.)to assist you with this. Summarize what you understand about this child in a 2-3 page essay. 

Using this information, create 3 lessons for this child that meets them where they are developmentally and also stretches them a tad towards their next level. You can use this lesson plan template Download lesson plan template

or one that you like or currently use. Remember that these are individual lessons and not weekly lesson plans that we generally use.
