Data Dictionaries
A data dictionary is a set of information describing contents, format, and structure of a database, relationship(s) between its elements, and used to create storage file for features and attributes. A data dictionary is created and uploaded onto our GPS units. You will create your data dictionaries when we meet in-person using Pathfinder Office software. When collecting data with our Trimble Juno GPS units, you will prompted to complete the attributes specified for different features in the data dictionary.
If done well, completing the Project Idea assignment should provide you with the information you will need (types of features, attributes, etc.) to create a useful data dictionary. We will meet using a Canvas discussion forum and Zoom to discuss your project ideas.
