Welcome to Bookkeeping II
Welcome to Accounting! My name is Lucy Dorum and I will be your instructor. I have an Associates Degree from Fort Steilacoom Community College (now Pierce College) and a Bachelors Degree from Western Washington University. I have been practicing in accounting for over 40 years and have been teaching for over 30 years at Clover Park. |
The best way to contact me is by e-mail through the course or at lucy.dorum@cptc.edu. I usually check my email several times a day (during the week – not regularly on the weekends or holidays), and should get back to you right away.
The required text (or e-text) and Cengage access code used in Bookkeeping I will be used in Bookkeeping II. See the syllabus for purchasing information.
Each chapter has recommended problems, links, and assessments. To begin, click on the Canvas module you want to begin then follow the links. After reading the chapter, follow the activities listed on the chapter page. See the syllabus for the test schedule. The syllabus calendar reflects an average of 8 – 12 hours per week of study to complete the required coursework. This course is NOT Self-Paced. Please feel free to work ahead.
Your main course is in Canvas. The electronic working papers are through the Cengage MindTap software. Graded and practice assignments are embedded in the Canvas course. The syllabus calendar combines all the due dates. You will be working between the two sites. Workbook Assignments in MindTap and coursework in Canvas are available for a limited time. Follow the module links to begin.
We will be covering chapters 12 through 22 of the text in Bookkeeping II. Please read the chapter lightly the first time you read the chapter. This will allow you to see the scope of the chapter. Reading lightly means skimming the chapter to see what areas will be addressed. Focus on text in bold lettering or italics, pictures, and diagrams. Once you have read the chapter lightly, go back and read the details. This will allow you to retain the information better. Trying to memorize from the first reading can be very overwhelming.
Please contact me if you have any concerns.
Have a great day!
