How to Update Your Notification Settings
You can choose to receive a notification whenever an announcement is made, a due date is changed, or new content is posted, etc. You can update notification settings in several ways. Below, I outline how to make changes that will affect all your canvas courses (i.e. how to change "Global Settings").
If you want to individualize notification settings for each class separately, you can use the links at the bottom of this page. The links provide directions to
- change notifications for individual courses (as opposed to global changes) and
- change notification preferences from a cellular device.

Set Global Notification Preferences |
(Preferences that affect ALL courses, not just this one)
1. Click on the "ACCOUNT" button in the navigation menu on the left side of your screen (your face, if you've uploaded a picture).
2. Click on the "NOTIFICATIONS' button.
3. For each account-level notification type (due date, grading policies, announcements, etc) choose a contact frequency and method.
* I suggest SMS 'notify immediately' for announcements.
