ASSIGNMENT: Scholarship Essay

Directions: This is a two-part assignment. Please read each part carefully.

Part One: Select one of the essay prompts from below, write a 500-word essay, then upload your essay to Canvas. Essays must be uploaded by July 17th by 11:59pm. Late submissions will NOT be accepted.

Essay Prompt 1: In 500 words, describe your current situation, any challenges you have had in reaching your goals, and what you have done/are doing to overcome these challenges. How will a scholarship help with these challenges?

Essay Prompt 2: In 500 words, define your educational and career goals and plans; including why you have chosen this path and what you hope to accomplish. Please include what certificate or degree you are currently pursuing and any plans to continue your education once you have completed your courses at CPTC.

Part Two: Once you've uploaded your essay (you can upload a draft of your completed essay AT ANY TIME, you don't have to wait until the due date), take your essay to the CPTC Tutoring Center and have one of the tutors edit your essay with you by  July 17th by 11:59pm Please note: the Tutoring Center is not open on the weekends, so be sure to note their hours and plan accordingly (no need to make an appointment before hand). Lastly, your visit will be tracked for credit, so be sure to sign in by providing your name, course, and instructor's name.
