 Observations at CPTC

Welcome to the Classroom Observations initiative at Clover Park Technical College. Our endeavor aims at nurturing a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in our teaching practices. This page serves as a succinct guide on what to expect and how to participate in the observation process. If you’d like more detailed instructions and reasoning, check out the Base Camp Module Here if you haven’t finished it already.

Observations are a cornerstone in understanding and enhancing the interaction between teaching methods and student engagement. By partaking in this journey, you have the chance to peer into various classroom dynamics, share your insights, and cultivate a community striving for educational mastery.

 Next Steps

Focus: Going into a class with some specific questions in mind can help you orient your attention and lead to a more meaningful observation. As an observer, it is advisable to reflect on your own teaching development and what you would like to work on in choosing an observation focus. If you haven’t done so already, use this guide to try to hone in on what you want to focus on when you are observing: Unpacking Observations: The Role of Feedback in Teaching Circles 🗣️

Sign-Up: Proceed to the next page to find the sign-up sheet for observations (Instructions are at the top of the Google Sheet)
