COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is an introduction to various roofing materials, including proper installation techniques.

PREREQUISITES

None

ASSESSMENT OF OBJECTIVES

Canvas assignments, quizzes and tests; instructor’s physical observation of hands-on demonstrations of skills taught in the workshop sessions.

Objective 1:  Prepare and install 3 tab shingle according to the manufactures specifications
Objective 2:  Identify wood shake, tile, and metal roofing and various installation methods

Objective 3: Properly install metal flashing around skylights, walls and various roof perforations

25% – Assignments
10% – Quizzes
25% – Lab Component (participation) (group work)
