COURSE DESCRIPTION

Introduction to the installation of exterior trim, siding and window and door installation on the equivalent of typical residential homes.

PREREQUISITES

None

Canvas assignments, quizzes and tests; instructor’s physical observation of hands-on demonstrations of skills taught in the workshop sessions.

Upon completion of this course the learner will be able to:
Objective 1:  Properly install wood, vinyl and windows
Objective 2:  Properly set siding and pre-hung exterior doors

Objective 3: Install common, locally accepted siding and trim, including cement board, plywood bevel, shingle and channel

Objective 4: Apply sealants to various siding perforations for maximum weather protection

25% – Assignments
10% – Quizzes
25% – Lab Component (participation) (group work)
20% – Midterm Exam
20% – Final Exam
