COURSE DESCRIPTION
Introduction to roof framing and the use of a framing square, including both truss roof and stick built residential roofs.
PREREQUISITES
None

Canvas assignments, quizzes and tests; instructor’s physical observation of hands-on demonstrations of skills taught in the workshop sessions.

Objective 1: Demonstrate proper roof safety and fall prevention |
Objective 2: Decipher framing tables to determine length of common rafters |
Objective 3: Install various rafters including hip, common, valley jack, and hip valley |
Objective 4: Erect truss roof according to engineered specifics |
Objective 5: Install blocks, layouts, barge, fascia, rake and roof sheathing |
