Course Description
Create professionally formatted presentations that include animation and transitions. Insert and format charts, graphics, diagrams, and pictures. Save presentation for various delivery options.
* Requires internet access to complete assessments.
**Few assignments steps do not function properly with Mac computers. Inform instructor if issues.
Prerequisites
Working knowledge of computer literacy to include file management, cloud storage, browsers, and search engines recommended.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course the learner will be able to:
- Use Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint, Internet, and email to find resources an communicate electronically.
- Create a presentation to communicate information and enhance reports.
- Create a presentation using the features of Microsoft Pow4rPoint to include: Design templates, formatting, inserting tables/chart, graphics and sounds, bullets, animations, transitions, and SmartArt.
- Modify a presentation using edit tools, adding notes for slides and using integration techniques.
Assessment of Outcomes
Assignments are available in Canvas and MyLab. MyLab assignments are linked in Canvas modules.
To be successful;
- Complete assignments timely, this course is not completely self-paced.
- MyLab access is required. Free trial period of 2 weeks is available. If you can complete ALL of the MyLab activities in the trial period, you will not need to purchase a code. If you follow the schedule, you will need a code. A text is not required. Tutorial videos are available in MyLab for all the covered topics.
- Please refer to the calendar provided for due dates.
- A minimum of 75% accuracy must be achieved
All assignments will be averaged for the course final grade.
All projects inside MyITLab will be graded by the software program. Please be sure to complete all training BEFORE submitting the training. These grades should post automatically. Discussions may take 1-2 days to post grades.

Schedule and Assignments
This sample calendar reflects an average of 3 - 5 hours per week to complete the required coursework. All assignments are open so feel free to work ahead. Due dates are shown on the following calendar. Contact me if the information you need is not available.
Students may be able to login as a guest to MyITLab for a limited time. The specific period is not shown on the publisher site at this time. If you complete all the MyITLab assignments within the trial period, you do NOT need to purchase an access code. If you choose to follow the calendar below, you will need to purchase an access code. The same code can be used for CAS151 as well. The code is approximately $105.
I recommend the student begin by working through the modules in order. Points are awarded for training activities, tests and assignments. If you have difficulty or need help, feel free to contact me.

- It is the responsibility of the college administration and faculty to provide reasonable and prudent security measures designed to minimize opportunities for acts of dishonesty that occur at the college.
- Any student who, for the purpose of fulfilling any assignment or task required by a staff member as part of the student’s program of study, shall knowingly tender any work product that the student fraudulently represents to the staff member as the student’s work product, shall be deemed to have committed an act of dishonesty. Acts of dishonesty shall be cause for disciplinary action and be subject to the processes described in the catalog.
- Any student who aids or abets the accomplishment of an act of dishonesty, as described in sub-paragraph b) above, shall be subject to disciplinary action.
Penalties for Academic Dishonesty:
For a first offense, a student will receive No Credit on the assignment. If a second offense occurs, the student will receive no credit for the course. For more information concerning student conduct and disciplinary procedures, please refer to the “Student Code of Conduct” in the CPTC Catalog.

Testing Procedures
Tests are listed above in the syllabus. Exams are expected to be completed in one sitting. Do not plan to take a test when you know you will not be able to finish it. Once the test is launched, it must be completed. The program will allow 3 attempts. If you have any concerns with the test, please contact me.
Tests not completed by the deadline will receive 0%.
Withdrawal
A Withdrawal from a class must be completed by the student and filed with Student Records. The Instructor cannot withdraw the student. The instructor is required to report when a student is not participating or vanished. Contact Student Records or Instructor for quarter deadline for withdrawal.
