Course Details
Fundamentals of on-equipment safety practices, hazardous material handling and identification. General first aid, CPR, and treatment for electrical shock injuries are introduced and discussed during this course.
Contact & Communication Plan
In-person communication will be practiced each day we attend class at the schoolhouse. The days when class is distance learned, we will use; Canvas, Email, Zoom and possibly Microsoft teams. Students will be expected to check their email daily to ensure they are updated on current operations.

- Identify hazards involving radio frequency energy and hazardous liquids/solutions.
- Associate safety practices with given hazardous materials using globally harmonized system and safety data sheets.
- Describe practices to control foreign object damage.

Technology
This course will require general knowledge of common office equipment and required tooling not to exceed the scope of a 2 quarter program.
Class Participation
Class participation for Lab assignments and written assignments will be 15 percent of a students grade. Attendance will be another 15 percent of a students grade. Lab/written assignments combined with attendance will make up 30 percent of a students grade. Attendance will be taken each day of class, whether online or in-person.
Graded Coursework
Students can expect 1 or more practical, verbal or written assignments each week accompanied by 1 quiz each Friday to capstone the previous weeks teachings. a mid-term test will be given at the end of week 7. The quarter final will be given the last week of class. All quizzes/tests will combine to make up 70 percent of a students grade.
Late Work
Late assignments or make up tests will be discussed on a case by case basis, see instructor for accommodation.

College Closure and Class Cancellation
Should the CPTC campus close for weather or other extenuating circumstance, you should not come to campus. If class is cancelled for some other necessary reason, you will be notified via email and/or canvas by your instructor personally, or CPTC leadership.
