M13: Using the Test Student Function
Overview
Part of any course design process is to evaluate your work. It's a good practice to take a look at your class from a student's perspective, especially if you are experimenting with anything. An easy way to do this is to use the Test Student account that is built into every Canvas classroom.

Check your work!
The Test Student account can be accessed by switching to Student View.
Keep in mind that your Test Student will experience the course the same way a real student would, so if you have module lock dates or completion requirements set, your Test Student may be locked out of certain content until those requirements are met. There are also a few items that are not accessible in the Test Student account, such as Conversations, Collaborations, Groups, and Profile. If you need to test any of these, please check in with your campus eLearning office and ask if they have a Guest/Test Student account that you can use for testing and troubleshooting.

TIP: Set your module requirements last so that you do not run into barriers when checking your design work using Student View.
